Finally, Vancouverites are able to stay on this side of the bridge for an evening of authentic Italian fine dining. First-time owners, Zsolt and Sherri Barabas launched their restaurant, Café Al Dente on June 13th 2006. The restaurant is located in downtown Vancouver at 907 Main St. Zsolt will put his European training to good use featuring handcrafted pastas and sauces using fresh local ingredients direct from the Vancouver Farmers Market, located just two blocks from the restaurant. Classic dishes include Lasagna al Forno and Chicken Marsala. Café Al Dente mixes things up with a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads, including the Tuna Melt with Imported Italian Tuna and the Insalata Gorgonzola. The restaurant will also feature a wine bar offering a selection of local and Italian wines.

After working in Portland for many years Zsolt and Sherri were both eager to stay close to home and contribute to the revitalization of downtown Vancouver and decided to combine their years of restaurant experience to open Café Al Dente.
